What is Midlands Social Karting?

Midlands Social Karting is more than just a racing club. We are a grassroots, non-profit community of motorsport enthusiasts from all across the Midlands.

Whether you’re a casual weekend driver looking for some fun or a regular competitor chasing lap times, our core focus remains the same: sharing unforgettable experiences on the track, improving our driving skills, and lifting each other up.

What makes MSKT truly special is the people. Our paddock is a diverse, welcoming mix of drivers, marshals, mechanics, supportive parents, photographers, YouTubers, cinematographers and mental health advocates.

What kind of events do you run?

  • Casual monthly social races
  • Community ran endurance races
  • Special themed events, often in aid of a cause
  • Larger organised race days as the calendar develops

The focus is always good racing, respectful driving and a fun atmosphere.

FAQs

Common questions

Is MSKT a registered charity or business?

We are a community-led social club, rather than a registered non-profit.

All of our operations, from organizing grids to negotiating track time, are driven by a dedicated small team focused on keeping costs accessible and putting the value directly back into the community’s experience.

Do you compete in endurance races?

Absolutely. Alongside our more regular local events, we coordinate multi-team entries for major endurance challenges, including 24-hour races.

We handle much of the heavy lifting, from paddock setups and team gazebos to tracking fuel consumption and managing stint strategies.

How do I join the team element of the community?

If you’re interested in racing with us, there are a few simple ways to get started:

  • Join the WhatsApp Community - the easiest way to stay up to date if we haven’t met you at the track yet.
  • Say hello at the track - join one of our public events and speak with the team on the day.
  • Enter our private spaces - active members may be invited into private spaces for race organisation, strategy, results, photos and footage. These spaces are 16+.
  • Step up your racing - once you’ve raced with us, opportunities open up into higher-tier community or PRO races and endurance events.
Can I race with MSKT if I’m already part of another team?

Yes. Midlands Social Karting is a community, not an exclusive.

Many of our members race with multiple teams or championships while still being part of the community. We regularly work alongside teams such as DEBRIEF and TSB, helping create a collaborative environment where teams support each other and share opportunities on the grid.

How does karting ballast work with the team?

To keep racing fair and competitive, we track driver weights and establish standardized team ballast requirements prior to events.

We use shared technical analytics to figure out exactly where rental ballast needs to go, ensuring everyone has a great race regardless of their natural weight. We also have a few seat inserts that can be shared across events.
